Pickup from the hotel for a 4-hour tour of the city after dark, offering an alternative view of Athens’ main attractions under the moonlight, and visits to the traditional Plaka neighborhood and the picturesque Mikrolimano in Piraeus.
Most people visit the antiquities in daylight, but seeing them under the moon can make for a vastly different experience. Athenian landmarks like the Acropolis, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Syntagma (Constitution) Square, or even Lycabettus Hill with its panoramic view of the city, possess a mystical charm that can only be revealed at the appropriate time. And the right time is the night time.
The tour also takes us through Plaka and Mikrolimano, two staples of Athenian nightlife that are equally popular to both tourists and locals.
The traditional neighborhood of Plaka lies beneath Acropolis’ northeast slope, featuring cobbled pedestrian streets filled with charming old houses and an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars.
As its name suggests, Mikrolimano (small port) is a picturesque bay in Piraeus, famous for its seafood taverns. People flock here from all over the city for the vibrant nightlife, or simply for a relaxing stroll by the marina.
